I have done all that I can do now, Had a nice spin last night with the nuggets…we did our “Taco Ride” from Beth and Donny’s. Rode to Zorinsky lake and back…nice 17 miles. Light spin, not much work there. Felt great.
Tacos and olympics afterwards. Great food everyone my compliments to all the chefs. Here was the menu:
Tacos
Cheese and Salsa rollups
Safron Rice
Refried Black Beans
Guacamole and Chips
and CC Cookies
and Beer
Becks guac was once again F*in amazing.
Good company all around and a fun time riding, hanging, watching olympics.
Looking forward to this weekend now…excited for tomorrow, will see how the legs go

Its two days now till the Tranquility Tire Tantrum at Tranquility Park in Omaha. This is basically the race I have been working towards all season. There are 2 more after, but this one I really consider to be my home course. Its where I do most of my training. I feel fastest on this course.
Tonight I’m pre-riding the course and going to turn on the afterburners for a bit during some short intervals and power sessions on the climbs.
Pre-race nutrition is in effect. Starting to up the carbs in the food a bit to make sure the legs are ready for hard efforts. Tonight will be pasta, with marinara and veges…yum.
I know I’m missing some good group rides this week. Sounds like Pats group was having some great ribs…eat some for me..wish I could make it…I will be back next week.
Post race, Becky and I will be doing the Corporate Cycling Challenge this weekend. I will be treating it as a recovery and won’t be riding very hard this year.
Enjoy the rest of your week, will post race pics later…
Cheers

PezCyclingNews had a great little article in their toolbox on Cold Water Immersion (CWI). For the uninitiated, you may have heard of icebaths or athletes taking cold showers post event in the cooldown phase to lower their body temperature. Well thats the basic principle.
Read the analysis here.
The bottom line, cooling down with a cold shower helps. More importantly, warming up while maintaining a lower body temperature can also help improve performance over a longer duration as well.
It was an epic battle in Leadville this past weekend…Lance Armstrong tried to dethrown the now 6-time in a row winner of the Leadville 100 Dave Wiens.
Here is some shiz on it…
here is what another rider I follow said about his own performance
Now I accept that these guys are the best at what they do…however with my plans to compete next year…(assuming I can find time to train) I just hope to make the 12hr cutoff.
